Now What?!?!

Let's go back in time to 1983.  When Adrian was seven years old he heard God say, "I want you to be a missionary to China."  Could God be speaking the same call to our five year-old that he spoke to his dad almost thirty years earlier?

Not wanting to "forget" the call on our lives any longer, we began to pray.  The more we prayed, the more our hearts began to stir for adoption.  Maybe this was a call for our family.  And, it would take all of us to fufill it.

We began to reach out to friends in Chicago and San Antonio.  Friends who had adopted and who encouraged us to look at the "Waiting Child" program for Chinese girls.

This summer I took my boys to the pool.  Up walks this precious little thing about the age of 2.  Of course, she was Chinese.  Mustering the courage, I waded over to her mom, and muttered, "Is she your daughter?"
"Yes," she replied, "Have you ever heard of the Waiting Child program?"
I told her about Henry and she smiled, "Looks like God is giving you lots of yesses."

And, that yes continues today.  When we wonder about application fees--a check shows up in the mail, a new job opens up--timely reminders that we are not alone.  We hear the yes, we feel the faith to move forward, and we ask that God would enable us with open arms to travel down the road ahead.
